My writing, speaking, listening and reading abilities greatly improved during this course. My writing skills improved by writing essays, my reading by reading different novels, and my listening and speaking by discussing different books. I learned in this course how to convey my ideas to the reader in order to be effective. I also learned to write better and more effectively by using writing techniques such as language features and sentence types.
Starting to write an essay is the hardest part because there are so many different opinions and ideas for writing an essay. Therefore, I believe the most valuable thing I learned in this course was how to organize different ideas to write an essay. So, now I can convey all my thoughts to the reader very well. But that's not all. Another thing I have learned very well in this course is how to support my opinions with other credible sources. I have learned how to find and use credible academic sources to support my ideas. I have also learned in this course how to recognize and analyze the structure of different novels, which helped me a lot when I wrote the adapting famous writers task.
All the things I have learned will be very influential in my future. All the things I learned this year can have a good impact on the next year and also facilitate ENG4U. Apart from high school, these skills will be very effective in university and even at work. Therefore, I no longer worry about writing lab reports, university essays and writing complicated and difficult articles.
These are the five tasks that I am the most proud of:
The diagnostic creative writing task was my first writing in English. First steps and first attempts are always important and exciting. So, this is one of my tasks that I am proud of and love. Another reason why I like this task is that in this task I was very free to convert and write everything that crossed my mind. So it was a great feeling to be able to add emotion to what I see and turn it into text. In this task, I tried to use all sentence models, including simple sentences, minor sentences, complex sentences, and compound sentences. Also, In this task, we had to use many language features such as a direct address, facts, figures, rhetorical questions, repetition, metaphors, and exaggeration. In my opinion, I was successful in using these language features and I used them well.
Adapting All Quiet on the Western Front was one of the most enjoyable tasks for me. For this task, I first examined the structure of the book and then looked for language features that Remarque has used a lot. By reviewing these things, I was able to write a text very similar to the original book. I tried to add a text that would be exciting for me as well as for the reader. So I decided to write about the time when the soldiers have not yet been sent to the front. I am very proud of this work because I feel that I have succeeded in using the right tone. I also believe that my choice of adaptation was creative and fit very well with the events of the story. In this task, we had to use a range of appropriate language features and narrative features. I am very proud of this task because I think I have followed all these points.
I am very proud of my essay on Romeo and Juliet, because I used very interesting and creative theses. I also used very good quotes to prove my thesis and also supported them with very reliable secondary sources. I am also happy that I was able to examine the structure and language features of Romeo and Julie and examine their relationship with my thesis. I learned in this task how to organize my mind so that I can use all the ideas I have in writing an essay. I also really like this essay, because I think it can be very interesting to write an essay that goes against what others think. In this essay, we should have provided specific frameworks for each paragraph. For example, for each paragraph, we had to state our theses, evidence and explanations. Also, we should have checked the structure of the quotations and supported them with reliable secondary sources. Also, we could compare our theses with that time, era, and context. I am very happy with my essay, because I think I followed all these details and was successful.
Presentations are always interesting to me and I try to present them in the best possible way. Presenting a poster is a great opportunity for me to improve my speaking skills. I am very proud of this poster, because it is the result of a very long process. We spent a week reading and reviewing Romeo and Juliet and we wrote down important points and quotes related to loyalty and love. After presenting this poster, the tips and suggestions that Mr. Cohen gave me made me strengthen my own ideas for writing essays. Also, the different opinions of other students made my mind more open to writing essays. In this presentation, we had to express our theses and support them with the quotes we found. In this presentation, I tried to have an energetic presentation and make the audience eager to listen. Also, in this presentation, I tried to find a relationship between the different levels of my stickers and love and loyalty. In the end, I think I succeeded in all of this and gave an interesting presentation. That's why I am very proud of this task.
My ISP was about All Quiet on the Western Front. I am very proud of this presentation. In my opinion, this was the best presentation I have ever given. In this presentation, I reviewed almost all the points of the book and explained each of them. In this presentation, I used very important and very beautiful quotes from the book so that I could convey my thesis well to the listener. I have well supported my thesis using reliable secondary sources and also explained why the source is reliable. I examined the structure and language features of many of the quotations I had used and explained their relationship to my thesis. I thoroughly explored Paul and Konturk's characters in this presentation. I chose Paul because he was the main character of the story, and I chose Konturk because I was eager to show the audience why soldiers went to the front. In this presentation, we had to express our theses for each character and explain them. I think I did it well. Also, I tried to have interesting slides to grab the attention of the listeners. Overall, because of all the things I mentioned, I am very proud of this task.

I have tried my best to create an enjoyable and accessible site. I just added two buttons on the home page and displayed some famous quotes at the bottom of the page. This makes the page beautiful and easy to work with. I also chose an attractive, simple and calm background so that the viewer does not get tired of seeing it. It is easy to access the posts that I have uploaded on my site and viewers can express their opinion at the end of each post. I have also tried to use attractive and effective images, so that the viewer will be eager to see my post. I am very proud of this website, because this site shows well what I have done in these two months.
